Luigi Pezzilli’s educational background includes a law degree from LUISS Guido Carli and studies in Sociology at La Sapienza in Rome, Italy. Later, he completed management training by studying at INSEAD, Harvard Law School, and Cornell University. In 2016 he obtained an Executive Masters Degree in Business Administration at the Hult International Business School in London, England.

After an initial engagement with various law firms, since 1997, he joined the Italian branch of the Swiss Re Group, one of the best known global players in reinsurance. Since 2003 he has held the roles of HR Director Italy and Local Compliance Officer.

He moved to Milan in 2009, where he became Resources and Operations Director of ERGO Italia, an insurance company belonging to the multinational financial services group Munich Re. In his role, he directs the legal, organizational, human resources, and general personal injuries functions. He is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of the consortium company ERGO Italia Business Solutions.

At the end of 2011, in Rome, he co-founded Agilium Worldwide Italy S.r.l., an executive search company belonging to the homonymous network, rated one of the top 20 headhunting organizations globally.

Since 2009 he has been a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). In addition to lecturing and testimonies in the HR field, for several years, he has collaborated with the chair of Organization and Management of Human Resources, Faculty of Economics of LUISS Guido Carli.

He published the article “Change management and harmonization of corporate cultures in merger & acquisition processes: the Swiss Re Italia case,” in Gabrielli G. (edited by), “Knowledge, learning, change,” Franco Angeli, Milan, 2006.

In 2012 he co-founded Illi’s Headhunting & Consulting, the first company in the “no-frills” formula of executive search.

Since 2012 he has been Senior Advisor of the General Management of LUISS Guido Carli.

In 2015 he founded P&Co. S.r.l., a strategic consulting and integrated communication company with competencies in the field of European planning and high-level execution.

In 2017 he co-founded LabEurope Consulting S.r.l.

In 2018 he co-founded Beyond, one of the first Italian benefit companies, focusing on advocacy, advisory, and strategy. With P&Co. he participated in the foundation of BUGS Comics S.r.l., a publishing house and academy dedicated to the world of comics.

In 2020 he launched two new publishing businesses: The Zest, an independent publishing house that drives value from experience in the communication sector and robust interaction with the world of research, and Dronespectre, a company that operates in the field of precision agriculture through surveys carried out with the use of drones. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Neosurance, an Insurtech company active as a technological platform for distributing micro-policies that can be purchased from smartphones.
