Italian American Sport Foundation Celebrates Italian Runners at the New York Marathon
The Italian American Sport Foundation (IASF) proudly supported a group of Italian athletes in participating in the 2024 New York Marathon, held on Sunday, November 3. This effort highlights IASF’s commitment to fostering sports connections between Italy and the United States.
Ahead of the marathon, on November 1, a celebratory event was hosted at the Italian Consulate General in New York. The gathering honored the Italian runners taking part in the iconic race and was attended by notable figures such as Fabrizio Di Michele, Consul General of Italy in New York, and Alessandro Pinto, founder and president of IASF. Former New York Marathon winners Gianni Poli and Giacomo Leone, along with representatives from the Sons of Italy Foundation and the CONI American Delegation, were also present.
