Ciao! If you are reading this it is because you want to make a difference and together we can. The funds raised here for the Italian American Sport Foundation will go toward the purchase of prosthetic limbs for young athletes who otherwise would not be able to train and compete.
I got into running at a later stage of my life. In 2020 I run my first marathon in Los Angeles where I live and last March I went back to my hometown and run the Rome Marathon.
Growing up as a kid in the Rome’s neighborhood of Centocelle I had to sit out in elementary school from physical education classes because my family while giving me all the love could not afford gym shoes for me.
It’s has been a dream of mine to run NY for many years, but this will be my first time running for a bigger purpose.
I hope that with your support and donations together we will be able to make a difference in the life of many. Grazie! Thank you!!

I’ve been running for about 15 years. I’ve run five marathons including Fort Lauderdale, Chicago and Marine Corps. I have have always wanted to run the New York City Marathon, but as most runners know, it can be difficult to get in.

My name is Melissa Giammichele. I currently live in Indianapolis, IN where I work full time at a commercial real estate company and also dance for the Indiana Pacemates (Pacers). In my free time, I love to spend time with my family and friends and go on long runs.
