A Night of Italian Prowess: Consulate General Celebrates the 2023 NYC Marathon with IASF

The Consulate General of Italy in New York and the Italian American Sport Foundation, Official Charity Partner of the 2023 TCS New York City Marathon, organized on Friday, November 3rd, a cocktail reception celebrating the participation of the Italian Community to the world most famous run.

The event was also intended as a special recognition for the ”Runners” of the Italian American Sport Foundation (IASF):

The group ran the Marathon and raised funds for IASF throughout the six months leading to the race.

Besides the Consul General of Italy, Fabrizio Di Michele, attended the event the Italian past winners of the NYC Marathon, Gianni Poli (1986) and Giacomo Leone (1996) and the Italian marathon champion Eyob Faniel. Towards the end of the evening arrived at the Consulate and participated in the last part of the reception, Carlo Nordio, Italian Minister of Justice and Maurizio Lupi, Former Minister of Infrastructures and Founder of the Montecitorio Running Club.
