Thank you so much for all you did on Marathon weekend! It was one of the best weekends of my life. I appreciated the opportunity to run in support of such an amazing charity.
IASF Runner Profile
My name is Melissa Giammichele. I currently live in Indianapolis, IN where I work full time at a commercial real estate company and also dance for the Indiana Pacemates (Pacers). In my free time, I love to spend time with my family and friends and go on long runs.
My family is from New York and it has always been a goal of mine to run the NYC Marathon. This will be my 3rd marathon and 1st NYC Marathon. I am looking forward to this incredible experience and the ability to show my support for the Italian American Sport Foundation.
IASF is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds for sports projects that help individuals (women and children in the first instance) to improve their lives and achieve their goals. This foundation aligns with my values, as they believe in the healing power of sports.
Your donation to IASF will help fund scholarships for athletes, organize sports events dedicated to children, and provide courses that teach women specific sports activities to build confidence. Thank you so much for your donation and support!

My whole New York experience was amazing and something I’ll never forget! I am so very grateful for the opportunity. The people I met, from the runners, to the volunteers, to the cheering crowds, were all so nice and supportive!

Thank you again for a lovely launch to a fun, great weather marathon weekend! I finished in 5 hours and 15 minutes. My goal was 4 hours and 50 minutes. I did not train enough for the hills and bridges so the end was the challenge. I am grateful to have this goal behind me.

As an Italian American and a New Yorker, I couldn't be happier to have kicked off my Abbot Six Marathon journey right here at home! I hope to inspire my children, showing them through hard work and determination, any goal is achievable.

I’ve been running for about 15 years. I’ve run five marathons including Fort Lauderdale, Chicago and Marine Corps. I have have always wanted to run the New York City Marathon, but as most runners know, it can be difficult to get in.

This year I have the opportunity to run my first marathon in NYC supporting IASF! I strongly believe an active lifestyle (especially running!) is directly correlated to your health and happiness. I am passionate about fitness and I have completed the Chicago Rock and Roll half marathon.

Hi Friends! It is Jackie Courtesis and I am beyond excited to announce that I am running the NYC Marathon with the Italian American Sports Foundation. As a 2nd generation Italian American and a New Yorker, there is no better organization to run for, nor no better city to run my first marathon in!

Hi! Thank you for visiting my fundraising platform for the Italian American Sport Foundation (IASF) in the 2023 New York City Marathon. As you may or may not know, I come from a family of Italian immigrants.

Ciao! If you are reading this it is because you want to make a difference and together we can. The funds raised here for the Italian American Sport Foundation will go toward the purchase of prosthetic limbs for young athletes who otherwise would not be able to train and compete.
